Diabetes, the Killer of Human

diabetesMany people still assume that diabetes is a disease of a parent or a disease arising only because of heredity. In fact, every person can have diabetes, both young and old, including you. However, you need to understand is you do not own.

According to WHO data, Indonesia ranks 4th largest in the number of patients with Diabetes Mellitus in the world. In the year 2000 alone, there are about 5.6 million Indonesian people with diabetes.

However, in 2006 the estimated number of diabetics in Indonesia rose sharply to 14 million people, in which 50 percent are aware of new diabetes and among them only about 30 percent for treatment regularly.

It is unfortunate that many diabetics who do not realize they suffer from a disease that more commonly referred to diabetes or diabetes. This may be due to the lack of information about diabetes in the community especially the symptoms.

Most cases of diabetes type 2 diabetes is caused by heredity. But heredity alone is not enough to cause a person affected by diabetes because the risk is only 5%. It turned out that type 2 diabetes is more common in people suffering from obesity due to obesity alias fro lifestyle.

1. Choose healthy foods

4. Determine carbohydrate
Write the foods and beverages consumed throughout the day. Be sure also to note the portion size. You may need food scale and measuring tool to be more accurate.

5. Monitor effects
You need to monitor the effects of intake of checking blood sugar levels. You can ask for a nutritionist or health worker to check blood sugar. You can also check their own blood sugar at home using a blood sugar measuring device. Thus, you can monitor blood sugar when too high and too low.

Coffee & Tea drinkers more protected from diabetes
