Green Tea

Ilona Hauber, PhD, researcher from the Heinrich-Pette Institute for Experimental Virology and Immunology, Hamburg-Germany says green tea and SEVI able to counteract against the HIV virus.

Hauber explained as published the National Academy of Sciences, SEVI is beta-amyloid fibril formed from prostate proteins in semen. Beta-amyloids are also found in people with neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

EGCG (molecules contained in green tea) is a compound that can fight the formation of beta-amyloid. Hence green tea leaves can be an alternative anti-HIV drugs affordable and effective in reducing the risk of HIV transmission.

Transmission of HIV from Mother to Baby

September 7th, 2009 admin No comments

Vertical transmission or HIV transmission from mother to baby is one of the routes of HIV infection. Like other modes of transmission, through sexual intercourse and use of shared needles, vertical transmission can be prevented. If successful, the vertical transmission rate will drop to below 1%, as happened in the U.S. and Europe.

Vertical transmission can occur in all phases, since the beginning of pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding babies until now. Read more…

SOMEONE SIGNS HIV

Actually there are no specific signs that could mark whether the person has been infected with HIV, because the presence of the HIV virus itself takes a long time (5 to 10 years to reach the so-called fullblown AIDS). The presence of HIV in the blood can occur without anyone showing symptoms of certain diseases and is called the HIV-positive. If a person infected with HIV for the first time and then checked out by a blood test, then in the first test are not necessarily able to detect the HIV virus in the blood. This is because our bodies kaena takes about 3 – 6 months to form antibodies that will be detected by blood tests. This period is called the window period (window). In this period, if the person had already had the HIV virus in his body (though could not even detected by blood tests), he was able to transmit HIV through behaviors mentioned above.

In general, the main signs are visible to a person who has reached the stage of AIDS are: Read more…

September 2nd, 2009 admin No comments

After some time ago I posted about HIV AIDS Virus, Definitions and Modes of Transmission/Distribution of HIV AIDS Virus and Modes of Transmission of AIDS disease. This time I will discuss about how to aids prevention of disease.

How to Prevention:

  • Always use sterile syringes and new every time you perform injections or other processes that result in injuries
  • Always apply the awareness about safe sex (that is, sex that does not allow tercampurnya genital secretions, as this allows transmission of HIV)
  • If pregnant women are HIV-positive in the situation should be told about all the risks and possibilities that would happen to herself and her baby, so the decision to breastfeed their own babies with breast milk can be considered. Read more…

HIV Virus

HIV stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus that causes AIDS by attacking white blood cells called CD4 cells that can damage the human immune system which can not ultimately survive the disease, although a very mild though.

HIV attacks CD4 cells and turn it into a breeding ground of new HIV viruses and then ruin it, so can not be used again. White blood cells are necessary for the immune system. Without the immune system when attacked by the disease so we do not have a body protector. The impact is that we can get away common cold. Read more…
